It is exciting to see the light bulb turn on in a student's mind while I teach! I have been teaching for over 30 years at all levels, and I have lots of international travel experience. It delights me to share my knowledge with others. I earned degrees from Syracuse University and the University of New York. I gained a lot of valuable academic knowledge and experience with people during my academic pursuits. Since college, I have been educating people informally, and working with students formally, in my daily life and through worldly travels. For recreation and business, I purposely traveled the world to absorb as much knowledge and experience as I could about people and different cultures. I am well equipped with the knowledge to tutor subjects ranging from math to history, and everything in between! I enjoy sharing my experiences of various cultures with my students. I have met government officials, presidents, and prime ministers. My interesting experiences and thought-provoking stories bring alive any subject, and make it relevant for my students. Rote memorization is sometimes important, but I find that people are more engaged, and successful, in exploring the how and why of the subject. In my free time, you will find me traveling, sailing, exploring, and cycling.
